Wayne County Birth Injury Settlement - Asphyxia - Medical Malpractice

Posted on Feb 05, 2010

A post, lawsuit filed in the Wayne County Circuit Court recently settled for $3 million. The suit was filed on behalf of a child against the physicians at a hospital with a minor child suffered a birth injury. He has been left totally disabled by a perinatal asphyxia and mechanical trauma to the head.

The plaintiff asserted that the OB/GYN negligently applied the vacuum extractor and which was in violation of the standard of care. The defendants contend that the hospital and physicians acted appropriately and the application of the vacuum extractor did not cause the voiceprint. The case settled for $3 million.
