Michigan Snowmobile Accident Deaths

Posted on Mar 07, 2009
Michigan snowmobile accidents claimed nineteen deaths this past Winter season.  About half of those deaths involved alcohol with the driver.  Many of the deaths were the result of accidents with stationary objects, like trees and light poles.

Last winter, 25 people died in snowmobile crashes through the end of March, an increase over the previous season with 21 deaths. Until last year, snowmobile fatalities were on an annual downward trend from the last high of 46 fatal snowmobile wrecks in the winter of 2002-2003.
