Posted on Mar 09, 2011
A medical malpractice lawsuit against a Michigan hosptial for a mother whose child suffers injuries due to a malpractice during delivery recently settled for 1.9 Million Dollars. After delivery, the child was diagnosed with a hypoxic ischemic injury and has significant speech deficits, difficulty in swallowing, and cognitive deficits.

The plaintiff asserted that the child's injuries were caused by failure to recognize distress during labor and deliver the child in a timely manner resulting in birth trauma. The defendent claimed the child's injuries were the result of a generic abnormality and not due to delivery of the baby.
