Drunk Driving Accident Settlement - Dram Shop Settlement

Posted on Feb 11, 2010

A dram shop law suit recently settled for $1 million for  the estate of the victim of a drunk driving accident. The lawsuit contended that the intoxicated driver became so intoxicated while at the restaurant that his friends had to encourage him to slow down and leave the bar. Apparently, the bar continued to serve the person even though he was visibly intoxicated.

A number of witnesses were present the night of the accident and provided eyewitness testimony as to the statement that the driver was drunk before he left the bar. The victim was quadriplegic as a result of this accident and died several days later. The case was settled before trial.
