A Detroit birth lawsuit recently settled for $1.75 million. Suit was filed against a local hospital and several physicians alleging they were negligent in the delivery of the child, which left him with spastic quadriplegic start cerebral palsy. The suit alleged that her mother presented to the hospital showing signs of fetal distress and other implications of immediate C-section was warranted. Despite this, hospital did not deliver the child. The minor plaintiff suffered motor cognitive deficits will require round-the-clock care for the rest of her life. The case settled before trial.
