SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. is pleased to announce their first annual scholarship for paralegal students in the amount of $1,000.
Paralegal students can apply to the scholarship by submitting an application and an essay describing educational and career goals, as well as any adversity they may encounter on their journey to success.
The scholarship will be awarded to one student, selected by a scholarship committee.
“It is my pleasure to announce this scholarship to help aspiring paralegals facing the overwhelming burden of school debt," said Lawrence J. Buckfire, lead trial attorney and president of Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. "This scholarship expands our firm's commitment to affordable higher education."
In order to be considered for the scholarship, students must be enrolled in any paralegal education program for the 2019 spring, summer, winter or fall semester of classes. Applications must be submitted on or before Oct. 1, 2019.
In offering the scholarship, Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. aims to ease the financial burden of school and encourage aspiring paralegals to pursue their dreams, regardless of the barriers in front of them.
"Paralegals play a vital role in the legal system, and a crucial role in a law firm's success," Buckfire said. "They're indispensable, and it's incredibly important that any and all aspiring paralegals are afforded every opportunity to pursue their educational goals."
Applicants must be U.S. citizens currently attending a paralegal educational program within the United States and must have completed at least one semester of classes while maintaining a 3.0 GPA.
