Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. Announces Law School Scholarship Winner

July 22, 2014 – Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. is pleased to announce Mr. Jeffrey Garcia as the recipient of the law firm’s 2014 Law School Diversity Scholarship!   He will receive $2000.00 toward his law school education.  Mr. Garcia was selected from over fifty applicants from throughout the United States.  Jeffrey attends the University of Southern California Law School and will graduate in 2016.

Jeffery is a first generation Mexican-American and grew upon in a Spanish speaking only home. He is the first in his family to graduate from high school, as well as earn a degree from a four-year institution.  He learned English by watching television and attending school.  Jeffery forged his own academic path through his hard work and ambition and earned exemplary grades.

Jeffrey aspires to be an attorney because he wants to be a leader in the Hispanic community and help disadvantaged people with their legal problems.   He is very active in contributing to the diversity of his law school through a number of programs.   He will be a great asset to both his community and the legal profession.

Students who applied for the Law School Diversity Scholarship must be a member of an ethnic or racial minority, or been an individual who demonstrates a commitment to issues of diversity during their law school education. Applicants must be currently attending an accredited law school within the United States and possess academic achievement as reflected by a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicants submitted an essay describing how they planned to use their law degree to promote ethnic diversity.
