Michigan birth injury lawyer for referral

How much does Buckfire Law pay as a Referral Fee?

We handle all birth injury and cerebral palsy cases on a one-third contingency fee basis.

Under Michigan law, we are required to deduct the case expenses from the total settlement amount before calculating our contingent fee.

For most birth injury and cerebral palsy cases, we pay the referring attorney a one-third referral fee. We guarantee this fee in writing immediately upon being retained by the client for representation. We also confirm the referral source in our case management software.

Does the Referring Attorney have to Co-Counsel the Case?

No, the referral lawyer does not have to do any work on the case after the client is referred to Buckfire Law.  The ethics opinion in Michigan specifically states that the referring attorney is not required to work on the case to receive a referral fee.  You simply refer us the case and wait for your referral fee check.
