What are the rights under the Michigan No-Fault Insurance laws if a person dies in a car accident?

If a person dies as a result of a Michigan fatal car accident, the family members of the decedent are entitled to no-fault insurance benefits under the "survivor loss benefits" section of the Michigan No-Fault Insurance Act.  These includes payment of partial funeral expenses, medical expenses, and other benefits.  If the decedent was employed or looking for employment at the time of the accident and was supporting family members, a claim can be made for lost wages.
