Our Sterling Heights car accident lawyers recently filed a first party lawsuit for a client in the Wayne County Circuit Court in Detroit, Michigan. The case arises out of a “T” impact accident that occurred in the city of Sterling Heights on northbound Schoenherr, North of Metropolitan Parkway. The client was a passenger in a vehicle that was struck another motor vehicle that failed to yield the right-of-way.
The client suffered what was initially believed to be soft tissue whiplash type injuries to her neck and shoulder. After undergoing an MRI it was learned that she has a herniated disc at C5-C6 in her neck. The client was insured by Safeco Insurance Company for her no-fault insurance benefits. Claims were submitted in a timely manner to the insurance company but have not been paid.
The lawsuit was filed seeking recovery of unpaid benefits and benefits that are continuing in nature. All damages permissible under the Michigan No-Fault Insurance Act are being sought, along with interest, costs, and attorney’s fees. No trial date has been set by the court.
