Pneumonia and Medical Malpractice

Comments (0)
Pneumonia is a sickness that we have all heard about, but many people underestimate the seriousness of the illness.  The failure to promptly treat and diagnose pneumonia can be deadly, especially in young children with pneumonia.  This time of year, it seems like everyone has a cough, sore throat, and congestion.  Many of us simply try to treat this sympoms by ourselves at home.  This can be a deadly mistake.

Pneumonia strikes both adults and young children.  The symptoms for each are slightly different, but the diganosis can often be made with the same tests.  This includes throat cultures, blood tests, and chest x-rays.  The failure of a doctor or emergency department to do a proper evaluation and prescribe necessary treatment can lead to serious consequences.  It can also lead to a medical malpractice lawsuit.
