Peanuts and Salmonella: Plant Knew They Were Tainted

Comments (0)
The salomella poisoning from peanuts that has put a huge scare into American consumers is still in the news.  An FDA report indicates that the plant that processes the peanuts that are used in all types of food products had been warned about the problem years earlier, but may not have followed orders to correct the issues.  Federal law prohibits producing or shipping foods under conditions that can make it harmful to consumers.  The salmonella outbreak has been blamed for at least eight deaths and hundreds of illnesses in 43 states.
