Our No-Fault insurance lawyers recently filed a Michigan No-Fault lawsuit for a client against State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company. The case arises out of a bicycle versus motor vehicle accident that occurred in the City of Taylor in Wayne County, Michigan. The client was a bicyclist that was struck by a negligent driver. Our client did not have his own motor vehicle and as a result his Michigan No-Fault benefits were obtained through the striking vehicle.
The client suffered serious injuries to his thumb, knees and face. He had surgery on one of his knees and his thumb.
State Farm had the client examined by Paul J. Drouillard, D.O. a well-known insurance company doctor eleven months after the accident. As expected, Dr. Drouillard reported that the accident victim had fully recovered from his injuries and State Farm then terminated his insurance benefits. State Farm claims that the exam by doctor Drouillard was independent, Dr. Drouillard works for MES Solutions, a well-known insurance company medical examination facility.
The lawsuit against State Farm Insurance Company is for the client’s medical bills and lost wages. It was filed in the Wayne County Circuit Court in Detroit, Michigan. No trial date has been set by the court.
