Our motorcycle accident attorneys recently settled a claim for a Michigan biker injured while riding his motorcycle in Florida. He was struck by another vehicle and suffered serious injuries in the accident. These injuries included a fracture leg requiring open reduction internal fixation surgery and a cranial nerve injury that limits the client’s ability to open/move one of his eyelids. We pursued a claim against the negligent driver.
The client did have a no-fault insurance policy on his motorcycle and therefore was eligible to receive benefits under his Michigan policy. These benefits included medical expenses, lost wages, household services, and attendant care services. His motorcycle insurance company paid those benefits. The insurance company will continue to pay those benefits for medical treatment in the future.
Our motorcycle lawyers fully investigated the accident and were able to prove that the other driver was the cause of the accident. The major issue in this case then became the injuries and damages suffered in the accident. The treating orthopedic surgeon and other doctors’ records were used to demonstrate to the insurance company the serious nature and extent of the injuries from the motorcycle accident. We were able to negotiate a settlement in the amount of $560,000 for the injured biker. There was no waiver of insurance coverage for future benefits.
