Michigan Awarded Grants To Protect Children From Lead Poisoning

Our Michigan child lead poisoning injury lawyer is proud to announce that today the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded nearly $127 million in grants to 48 local projects.  The local projects include a wide range of activities intended to protect children and families from lead-based paint and other healt hazards that cause lead poisoning injuries to children.

In Michigan, Saginaw County was awarded $3,100,000 for lead based paint hazard control grant program and Southeastern Michigan Health Association $999,995 for healthy home production grant program.

The point of these grants are to clean up lead and other health hazards in homes, train workers in lead safety methods, and increase public awareness about childhood lead poisoning and the injuries suffered.

Children who have been victims of lead poisoning injuries do have legal rights.
