Our auto accident attorneys in Macomb County recently filed a lawsuit related to a serious car crash that occurred in Washington Township, Michigan. The accident happened when a 19 year old woman ran through a flashing red light at the intersection of 29 Mile Road and Van Dyke Road and crashed into our client’s automobile. She was issued a ticket by the Macomb County Sheriff. The accident was witnessed by a Shelby Township firefighter.
Our client suffered very serious injuries in the auto accident. These include injuries to both legs which required surgery and an ankle injury which also required surgery. He was hospitalized for a lengthy period after his surgeries to assist with his recovery. At the time of his discharge, he was unable to return home because he was confined to a wheelchair so he was forced to move into the home of a relative. His family members provided him with attendant care services during his period of recovery. He continues to attend physical therapy to improve his ability to walk after his surgeries.
We filed the car accident lawsuit in the Macomb County Circuit Court against the careless driver. The lawsuit seeks damages for the pain and suffering, disability, and other non-economic losses suffered due to the accident related injuries. Currently, Geico Insurance Company is paying his no-fault insurance benefits. It is expected that the other driver’s insurance company, State Farm Insurance, will pay the settlement in this case. No trial date has been set by the court.
