We recently settled a Lansing car accident lawsuit for a husband and wife who suffered injuries in a car accident. The negligent driver crossed the median and struck our client's vehicle head-on causing both airbags to deploy. They both suffered injuries to their knees and legs. The wife was diagnosed with cellulitis and acquired lymphedem and has a lifetime prescription for use of a Lymphapress, which takes between 1 ½ - 2 hours per day, 7 days a week. Its purpose is to massages the fluids in her legs. Her husband suffered a sprained right knee and a fractured metarsal bone in his left foot.
We filed a lawsuit on their behalf in the Ingham County Circuit Court. The trial judge ruled as a matter of law that the accident victims suffered serious impairments of bodily functions. The case was settled shortly thereafter for the insurance policy limits. (George Burke)
