Our Macomb County car accident lawyers recently filed an auto accident lawsuit in the Macomb County Circuit Court against the at-fault driver in a head on collision. The accident happened on March 10, 2015 in Clinton Township, MI when the negligent driver crossed the center line of the road and hit another vehicle head on. Our clients, a mother and her son, were seriously injured in the accident.
The crash was investigated by the Clinton Township Police Department. Our client was driving her son home from the Clinton Township Library when the defendant struck their vehicle head on and forced their car into a deep ditch. Our client’s vehicle was totaled as a result of the collision. The police determined that the defendant driver was drunk and he was arrested at the scene and he is facing criminal charges from this accident.
Our client’s two year old son was rushed by ambulance to Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit. A plastic surgeon closed the serious laceration above his eye. The mother was also transported by ambulance to the hospital for treatment. She was diagnosed with a fractured sternum and broken ribs. She has missed a significant amount of employment as a result of her injuries.
The lawsuit seeks compensation against the drunk driver for both the mother and her child for the injuries suffered in the accident. Settlements for these cases include payment for pain and suffering, disability, fright and shock, and excess lost wages. A claim is also made against Allstate Insurance Company for underinsured motorist’s benefits. No trial date has been set by the court.
