A Michigan woman injured in a Florida motorcycle accident recently received a $210,000 settlement. Our client was a passenger on a motorcycle struck by a negligent driver while on a vacation in the south. She suffered serious orthopedic injuries, which included a fractured distal radius with surgical repair (ORIF) and insertion of a “volar plate” and 7 locking screws. The driver of her motorcycle also suffered catastrophic injuries and his claim is still pending.
This accident occurred on March 9, 2011 and our firm was able to settle the case without filing a lawsuit. The case settled on the insurance claims level basis due to the excellent advocacy provided to the client. Even though the accident occurred in Florida, we were able to handle the case for the Michigan resident and our extensive knowledge of the complex Michigan No-Fault Insurance laws was a key factor in resolving the case.
Daniel Buckfire is the first Michigan motorcycle accident lawyer to author the only book ever written for motorcycle accident victims in Michigan, “The Ultimate Michigan Motorcycle Accident Handbook.” His book is a practical guide to understanding your legal rights after being injured in a bike accident. The book sells for $14.95 on Amazon but we’ll send it to you for FREE!
