Our Detroit car accident lawyers recently filed a lawsuit on behalf of a client who suffered serious injuries when another car ran a stop and struck his car. The negligent driver ran a stop sign at Preset Street at the intersection of Fenkell and crashed into our client's car. Our client suffered serious injuries, including a herniated disc in his lower back that has caused nerve damage. He underwent epidural injections and physical therapy for his injuries but has not recovered. He is disabled from his work in the cleaning business as a result of the injuries suffered in the car accident.
We filed a lawsuit against both the negligent driver and our client's own insurance company, State Farm Insurance. Claims against the negligent driver are for pain and suffering, disability, loss of enjoyment of life and other non-economic injuries. State Farm was sued because the insurance company had our client examined by one of its insurance company doctors, who of course, provided State Farm with an opinion to terminate insurance benefits. The suit against State Farm seeks payment of medical expenses, lost wages, and other benefits. A trial date has not been set by the court.
