Detroit Car Accident Involving Semi-Truck Kills Ann Arbor Student

Comments (0)
Our Ann Arbor car accident lawyers are reporting a tragic and unusual Detroit truck-auto accident that took place on M-39. The accident took place on Friday, October 22nd around 2:30 p.m.  According to police, the axle of a gas tanker traveling south on M-39 broke, detaching dual affixed tires. The tires that detached hit a semi-truck, flying off the semi, bouncing over the median and strking another vehicle driving in the opposite direction. The driver of the vehicle, Ashley Thomas, a U of M student, was killed due to the accident.

I am very sorry to hear about this accident. My condolensces go out to the family of the deceased victim.

Our Michigan car accident attorneys advise victims of their legal rights. For this type of Michigan accident, the family members of the deceased victim may be able to make a claim for Survivor Loss Benefits. This can include payment of funeral expenses, lost wages, and loss of other services.

Also, the family members of the deceased may have a claim for a Michigan wrongful death lawsuit against the driver and the owner of the semi-truck if police determine was negligent.  At the very least, the family members should contact a lawyer to find out their legal rights.
