Dearborn Postal Truck Accident Causes Death

Comments (0)
A Belleville man, Bradley Ryan, was killed in an Michigan car accident earlier this week on I-94 near Greenfield Road in Dearborn.  He was stopped on the highway along with motorists due to a fire that had stopped traffic.  While in park, his car was struck by a United States Postal Truck, causing his death.

Most people are unaware that there are different laws that apply when a federal government vehicle, like a mail delivery truck or other United States post office vehicle, are involved.  These cases come under the Federal Tort Claims Act and must be filed in the appropriate federal court.  There are also specific procedures to be filed, like filing a claims form.  Failure to adhere to these rules can mean a dismissal of a case.

The family of Mr. Ryan may be able to file a wrongful death case as a result of this accident. It is important for an accident victim with a U.S. Postal Truck or other federal vehicle to contact an experienced Michigan car accident lawyer as soon as possible after the accident.  This will help preserve the claim and ensure that proper procedures are being followed.
