Cancer Malpractice | Medical Malpractice Lawyers

The Cancer Medical Malpractice Lawyers at Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. are very excited to learn of a new technique aimed at detecting cancer earlier than ever before.  It is our hope that by employing this new technique, doctors will be able to detect and ultimately treat cancer earlier and more effectively than they are now.  Hopefully, the use of this new technique is one step on the way to a cure for cancer.

The new cancer treatment technique is called partial wave spectroscopy or PWS.  Doctors actually use light waves to create an image of microscopic cells in their patients' bodies.  The image is created when light waves bounce off the cells.  It acts as a map to the different parts of the cells and includes any irregularities in shape at the microscopic level.

PWS so far has been used to successfully detect pancreatic cancer at its early stages.  Pancreatic cancer is nearly always fatal, because up until now it was impossible to detect until it started to cause a problem, unless a doctor happened to chance upon evidence of a tumor by accident.  Now, it should become easier to detect and treat pancreatic cancer early.  Hopefully, PWS can will eventually be used to detect and treat all forms of cancer.

When a doctor fails to detect cancer because of an unreasonable or preventable error, the doctor may have committed medical malpractice and the patient or a family member may be able to file a lawsuit.
