Broken Stairs Lawsuit Filed-Defective Steps Cause Injury

Comments (0)

Our Michigan slip and fall accident lawyers recently filed a lawsuit on behalf of a client who suffered a severe back injury due to defective steps at a business.  The client was a truck driver who was at a large warehouse for a delivery.  After the delivery was complete, he was exiting from the building down some wooden steps.  The steps were defective and broke, causing him to fall to the ground and suffer severe back injuries.

The lawsuit seeks compensation for his injuries, including pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, and for his disability.  He is now disabled from driving a truck and can no longer return to his employment.  A business has a legal duty to make the premises safe for people that are invited onto the premises for business purposes and must inspect the property for defective conditions.  The suit alleges that the property failed to do these things and this was the cause of the injuries.
