Our Michigan car accident lawyers recently filed a personal injury lawsuit on behalf of a client who suffered serious injuries when another car rear-ended her while she was stopped for a red light. The negligent driver failed to stop before she crashed into our client's car. The collision occurred at the intersection of Carpenter and Ellsworth Roads in Pittsfield Township. Our client suffered serious injuries, including a closed head injury with chronic headaches, loss of memory, cognitive injuries, and back injuries which have caused her to be placed on a lifetime lifting restriction. She treated at the University of Michigan hospital following the crash and also treated in the U of M Hospital Traumatic Brain Injury Program for approximately 8 months after the accident. She has continuing disabilities as result of the accident.
The lawsuit was filed against the negligent driver, the owner and our client's own insurance company, MEEMIC Insurance Company. Claims against the negligent driver are for pain and suffering, disability, loss of enjoyment of life and other non-economic injuries. A claim for underinsurance motorists benefits was made against MEEMIC.
