Toyota Recall - Ray LaHood's advice to Toyota Owners

Toyota announced a recall of 2.3 million vehicles in the United States due to conditions related to the gas pedals. The United States Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood is advising all owners of Toyota vehicles to stop driving the vehicle and get them into their dealer immediately for repairs. LaHood voiced his concern to a House Appropriations subcommittee on transportation just last week.
Due to both recalls, "Floor Mat Entrapment" and "Pedal", production at North American plants have been closed down so that Toyota can focus on remedying the cars they have recalled. To ensure that Toyota's upcoming cars are safe, LaHood said he will call the Japanese automaker in coming day to make sure they are aware of the government's concerns about safety issues with Toyota vehicles.
