Posted on Apr 03, 2009
The Michigan Department of Agriculture (MDA) is working hard to determine the source of the recent salmonells poisoning  in our state.  The Dpeartment is currently investigating a 25 case outbreak of Salmonella Typhimurium confirmed in Michigan.  The  Center for Disease Control and public health officials in multiple states are  comparing foods eaten by ill and well persons have suggested peanut butter as a likely source. MDA and its partners will continue to gather samples and to collect epidemiological information, including distribution records on products of interest.  For updates on the investigation and the most recent news, visit the Michigan government website.
