Patient Suicide Settlement

The family of a psychiatric patient who committed suicide was awarded a $525,000 settlement. The suit alleged that the psychiatric facility failed to confiscate the patient's belt, despite knowing that he was suicidal. He later committed suicide by hanging with his belt.
