I recently read a story about a teen driver education program in Livingston County. The program allows parents to register their teenagers' vehicles with the Sheriff's Department. If the vehicle is pulled over and the driver is under 21 years old, the Department will contact the parents by U.S. mail and inform them of the stop, including whether any citations were issued. The hope is that teenage drivers will look at the program's sticker in their windshield and be reminded to drive carefully. Read more about the program here.
