An Amtrack commuter train travelling from Michigan to Chicago crashed on November 20, 2007, injuring dozens. The injured include five Amtrack employees who are reportedly hospitalized and in critical condition.
Investigators from federal agencies and Amtrack are on the scene looking for answers on the cause of the accident. Early reports suggest that the Amtrack train failed to stop and crashed into another railroad car that was stopped on the tracks. Witnesses describe the crash as sounding "like an explosion." Once the investigators determine who was at fault in the accident, the injured innocent passengers and employees can pursue civil claims against the negligent party.
