In 2006 this figure stood at 55, and thus it remained almost the same over the year. These traffic crashes was high keeping in view the recorded Million VMT figure of 3951 in 2006. Age of Accident Victims
The average age of the drivers who were involved in auto accidents in the State of Michigan were 35.1 years and over 23.4% of the fatal accidents in the state were involving persons in the age group 16 to 24. The young drivers in the Washtenaw County accounted for 38.2% of the accidents (refer fig 42 of the report). This was higher than the other regions in the state.
