Our Michigan premises liability lawyers recently settled a case for a woman who suffered serious injuries due to a defective condition at her apartment complex in Wyandotte. She was descending the stairs and stepped into a hole in the pavement at the bottom of the stairs. The area had poor lighting and she was unable to see the hole before stepping into it. She suffered a fractured fibula which required surgery and an internal fixation device. She received a settlement of $74,000 and the case was settled before a lawsuit was filed. The insurance company for the apartment complex paid the settlement.
Awarded: $74,000
