We recently settled an Ohio child lead poisoning lawsuit for a 17 year old Ohio girl who suffered lead poisoning as an infant. The girl lived in a Toledo rental property and was diagnosed with lead poisoning at age 3. Her lead levels were so high, she required chelation therapy and hospitalization.
A lawsuit was filed against the landlord at the time she was diagnosed with lead poisoning. A health inspection revealed significant lead based paint hazards at the property during the time that she lived in the home. The landlord was cited by the Toledo Department of Health for these hazards.
The 17 year old is now a senior in high school. She has worked very hard to overcome the challenges caused by her lead poisoning and hopes to go to college next year. The settlement funds that she will receive will assist her in funding her college education.
