Our firm recently filed a
Wrongful Death lawsuit for medical malpractice against a Lansing hospital, an anesthesiologist, a gastrointestinal surgeon, and a certified nurse anesthesist. The
medical malpractice case relates to the death of a 54 year old woman who went to the hospital to have an EGD and colonoscopy. During the procedure, she suffered a respiratory arrest and later died.
The suit alleges medical malpractice against all of the doctors who were involved in the procedure. The suit alleges that there was negligence in the administration of the anesthesia and that there was no pre-procedure plan for the patient, who had specific risk factors for general anesthesia. The case is pending in the Ingham County Circuit Court.
The woman was survived by her husband and daughters. The suit seeks damages under the Michigan Wrongful Death Statute for her loss. No trial date has been sent for this medical malpractice case.
