Our Westland car accident lawyers recently filed an auto accident lawsuit for a client in the Wayne County Circuit Court. The case arises out of an intersection accident that occurred in the city of Westland. Our client was a driver of a car that was broad-sided by a negligent driver. The defendant driver disregarded a blinking red light and struck the driver’s side of our client’s car causing it to roll over.
According the National Highway Traffic Safety Admission (NHTSA), that all vehicles, including 5 star rated vehicles, have a 10% chance of a rollover accident. Rollover car accidents are very dangerous as quite often they result in life altering injuries, permanent disability, or even death. Injuries often include spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, severe orthopedic fractures, and other serious injuries. Cases involving death can give rise to a Michigan wrongful death lawsuit.
Our client suffered serious injuries in the accident. He had been involved in a prior car accident just three months before and aggravated his neck and back injuries, including herniated discs in his back. As a result the client had back surgery. The lawsuit seeks damages for his pain and suffering, disability, and other non-economic damages. His medical bills and other expenses were paid by the no-fault insurance carrier. No trial date has been set by the court.
