Slip and Falls Cause Brain Injuries
Michigan slip and fall injuries are being reported in high numbers. With Winter on its way and snow and ice soon to be covering the ground, it can be expected that these injuries will become much more frequent. Slip and fall injuries, especially on ice and snow, often result in serious injuries. These include hip fractures and other orthopedic injuries, brain injuries, and even death. According to the Center for Disease Control, the leading cause of traumatic brain injuries is slip and fall accidents. These account for 28% of all traumatic brain injuries. Landowners and property owners have a legal duty to make their premises safe. Be careful this Winter and avoid icy spots whenever possible.
