Our Michigan slip and fall lawyers recently filed a lawsuit in the Wayne County Circuit Court. The case was filed on behalf of our client, a postal carrier, who slipped and fell on ice at an apartment complex where she was delivering the mail. It had been snowing much earlier in the day and the snowfall had stopped well in advance of her injury. There was also ice in the parking lot.
The apartment complex did not remove the snow or salt the parking lot to melt the ice. She slipped and fell and landed on her shoulder. As a result she seriously injured her shoulder, which required surgery. The lawsuit seeks damages for her pain and suffering, disability, lost wages, and medical expenses. No trial date has been set by the court.
