Our Michigan slip and fall injury lawyers recently filed a premises liability lawsuit for a client in the Oakland County Circuit Court. The case arises out of a slip and fall accident against a landlord for their failure to maintain the property, including a failure to mitigate the hazards created by snow and ice. The client suffered fractured ankle requiring open reduction internal fixation surgery. She was treated at Providence Hospital and diagnosed with "Acute closed fracture distal right fibula with widening of the ankle mortise."
The suit seeks damages for pain and suffering, disability, and other non-economic damages. It also seeks damages against the landlord for payment of medical expenses. No trial date has been set by the jury.
