On December 2, 2011 at the Fountain Bistro at Campus Martius Park in Detroit, Mothers Against Drunk Driving held their annual public awareness event that kicked off their “Tie One On For Safety” (TOOFS) campaign. The Michigan car accident lawyers of Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. are happy to announce that not only are we a sponsor of the TOOFS campaign, but our own drunk driving accident Attorney Robert J. Lantzy was invited to speak at the event.
This is the 25th consecutive year MADD has held their annual TOOFS campaign, which runs from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day. The event is held to motivate people to assist police officials in keeping our roads and highways safe from drunk drivers and making people more aware of the fatal consequences of getting behind the wheel after drinking by tying a red ribbon on their vehicle. 
Master of ceremonies included Beth Sowulewski, Manager Field Development of MADD Michigan, and Fox 2 News Anchorwoman, Andrea Isom. Sheriff Anthony Wickersham, Sheriff Micheal Bouchard, and Captain David Praedel were just a few of the many Sheriffs and policemen who spoke at the TOOFS event. Macomb, Oakland and Wayne County Sheriff Departments were all represented.
