Kalamazoo Lawsuit Filed for Slip and Fall on Ice at Apartment

Comments (0)

Our Kalamazoo slip and fall lawyers recently filed a personal injury lawsuit on behalf of forty seven year old women who was a tenant at the Neighborhood Apartments. The apartments are on a steep hill that has steps leading to a sidewalk.  Prior to the fall the steps did not have any handrails.   As our client was descending the steps, she slipped and fell on ice and snow that was not cleared away or salted by the maintenance staff.  After the incident, the apartment maintenance staff installed handrails for the steps.

The plaintiff suffered very serious injuries as a result of the fall, which included a broken bone in her ankle.  She underwent surgery to repair her fractured ankle.  Plates and screws were required to repair the ankle.  The lawsuit seeks damages for her pain and suffering, disability, and scars caused by the surgical incision.  The suit also seeks damages for payment of medical expenses.

The slip and fall lawsuit was filed in the Kalamazoo County Circuit Court in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  No date has been set for a jury trial in this matter.
