Great American Insurance No-Fault Lawsuit Filed - Head Injury - Knee Replacement

We recently filed a Michigan No-Fault Insurance lawsuit against Great American Insurance Company on behalf of a client who suffered serious injuries in a car accident in 1997.  Our client has required continuing care and treatment for his injuries since the accident.  This includes treatment for a traumatic brain injury and a knee injury suffered in the accident.

Last year, our client underwent a knee replacement due to the accident.  Medical bills and other bills, including for attendant care services, were submitted to the insurance company.  The insurance adjuster is now with Infinity Insurance Company, which apparently took over the claim from Great American.  The adjuster dragged her feet and refused to pay benefits for almost a year and it became necessary to file the lawsuit.

Because the benefits have been improperly denied, the insurance company will be required to pay attorney's fees and interest for our client.  This is another example of an insurance company and adjuster trying to wear down the accident victim by demanding more and more documentation, even though they were already provided full documentation of the injuries, doctors reports, and medical bills.  The case was filed in the Oakland County Circuit Court in Pontiac, Michigan.
