Our firm recently filed a
medical malpractice lawsuit in the Kent County Circuit Court alleging that a bariatric surgeon was negligent in the treatment of our client after her bariatric surgery procedure. Our client, a 60 year old woman, underwent a
Roux-en-Y gastric bypass procedure and has hospitalized after the surgery. She was subsequently discharged from the hospital even though she had signs and symptoms of a
gastric bypass leak.

After her discharge from the hospital, she returned home for recovery but was still in significant pain and discomfort. Her husband rushed her back to another local hospital where the need for emergency surgery was determined. Emergency surgery was performed but she now has significant injuries as a result.
The suit seeks damages for pain and suffering, medical expenses, attendant care services, and other damages allowable under the Michigan medical malpractice laws.
