Laparoscopic gallbladder surgeries are often considered to be "routine" procedures, but they are not without significant risk. While most surgeries are successful and uneventful, there are times when a patient suffers a significant injury during the procedure. This could give rise to a medical malpractice lawsuit if the surgical error, like cutting the wrong artery, was outside an ordinary risk of the procedure or if the surgeon failed to identify and repair the injury in a timely manner. We recently added a Libary Article on Gallbladder Surgery Malpractice to explain how these medical malpractice cases work in Michigan.
