Client Testimonials

I was riding my bike in Detroit when a tractor-trailer truck pulled into my lane of travel and forced me to roll my bike into an oncoming lane of traffic. I suffered catastrophic injuries, including a traumatic brain injury and numerous bone fractures, which required multiple surgeries. I chose Buckfire & Buckfire for my motorcycle accident case and they settled it for $1,100,000.00. In my opinion, they are the best motorcycle accident lawyers in Michigan.
- Michael J. Smith, Waterford, MI

A friend then suggested that I call attorney Daniel Buckfire about my Detroit, Michigan car accident case. He spoke with me personally and understood the serious nature of my injury and began working on my case immediately. My condition worsened and I have had several surgeries. Mr. Buckfire fought hard to obtain a settlement of $1,400,000.00 for me. I cannot imagine any other attorney going to such great lengths to help a client. I am grateful for his efforts.

Farmington Hills Car Accident | SMART Bus Accident

A Farmington Hills accident involving a car and a SMART bus has sent one man to the hospital.  The accidnet occurred on Orchard Lake Road near 13 Mile on January 27, 2009 when a car and a SMART bus were involved in a head-on collision.  No details of the causes of the accident were available but the elderly driver of the car was transported to the hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries while the bus driver and a passenger were not injured.

I am very sorry this accident occurred.  I hope that the man is able to recovery completely.  I am, however, glad that this accident was not worse.  If there had been more people on the bus, it is very likely someone would have been injured since buses usually do not have seat belts and other safety features.

Even though it is not clear who was at fault, the driver of the car should submit a claim for Michigan No Fault benefits.  No Fault insurance will pay for his ambulance and for his hospital bills.  It will also pay for all reasonable and necessary follow-up treatment and for other benefits such as household replacement services or attendant care if these become necessary.

The man may also be able to file a lawsuit against the bus driver or SMART if his injuries were very serious and if the SMART bus driver was negligent in causing the accident.  The man or a member of his family should contact a lawyer immediately to discuss his injuries and the police report of this accident to determine if the man has a valid lawsuit which he could file.
